Debra Kinsey Knits leaflet - Quadrille baby blanket
Four separate wedges are worked, backwards and forwards in rows, beginning with the outer zig zag edging. The sides of the wedges are joined using mattress stitch, then the remaining centre stitches are gathered on a thread and secured.
The zig zag edging is worked sideways, then the stitches for the wedge are picked up along the straight side edge and the easy four-row stocking stitch stripes begin. The fashioned decreasing worked along the sides creates an easy sewing edge, perfect for mattress stitch.
The blanket is worked in three colours: two complimentary stripe colours and a highlight colour for mischievous pops.
The Quadrille Blanket requires intermediate knitting skills.
