I’m brand new to crochet and wasn't sure where to start, but Craftee Cottage has been an absolute lifesaver! From the moment I walked in, the staff were so welcoming and patient, taking the time to help me choose the right yarn and hook for my first project. They even gave me some helpful tips to get started and showed me a few basic stitches.
The selection of yarn is amazing, with so many beautiful colors and textures to choose from. You can tell they really care about their customers and love what they do. Thanks to their guidance, I feel so much more confident, and I’m already hooked (pun intended)!

One of my favourite places to buy new yarn and craft items. I’ve been shopping at this store for the past 10 years back when they were still at the old location in Oakleigh. The new store is much bigger, allowing for a much larger selection of items.
The staff here are always beyond incredible. I came in looking for a very specific shade of green to crochet a festival top (it’s brat girl summer 😜); the staff spent a tonne of time going through a couple of options with me and searched the store top to bottom after I left to see if there was any extra yarn in that colour I could pick up. Always prepared to go above and beyond regardless if you’re an advanced crafter or just starting out, everyone working here knows their stuff and is willing to give you as much time as you need to get what you want.
The products are always top-notch and fit for purpose. I love coming in just to browse and see what’s new in store. I’m not gonna lie, the website is a tad clunky (the different colours of products are all separate item listings, for example) but once you get used to it, it’s pretty simply to find everything you need. I especially love the sheer number of filtering options available so you can sort by different materials, yarn size, brand, colour, etc. It definitely makes finding what you’re after incredibly easy if you know approximately what you’re looking for.
I’ve mostly moved away from shopping at Spotlight due almost entirely to the incredible service and products that Craftee Cottage supplies. I would definitely recommend checking out the store in person if you’re in the area or have the time.
Great wool shopping here. Good range despite the space being on the small size. Staff are helpful when asked, finding you what you need.
